Birthday, stipendium and the flag at the top! Birgit’s birthday (105 years) was celebrated with municipal flag day! At 10:00 the flag was raised as usual together with invited guests. This year’s Birgit Nilsson Stipendium holder was announced at 11 at the museum and it went to the mezzo-soprano Ida Ränzlöv who, on August 11, receives SEK 200,000 at a concert in Västra Karup’s church as part of the celebration of the Birgit Nilsson days. Read more about the scholarship here. Birgit Nilsson Museum continued the celebration with an open museum in the afternoon with free entry to this year’s exhibition. The stable cafe was open and offered the Birgit Nilsson pastries all day!
