Birgit Nilsson Festival 2027

The 2027 festival will conclude after several intensive days with Giacomo Puccini’s opera Turandot as a spectacular finale at Båstad Tennis Stadium on 14 August, the day after the Stipendium Concert at Västra Karup Church.

The Birgit Nilsson Festival is a celebration of one of the world’s greatest opera singers and an integral part of the cultural and musical life of the Bjäre Peninsula.

The festival is organised by the Birgit Nilsson Foundation.

Master Class

Teaching at the highest level. The Birgit Nilsson Master Class takes place annually every August,  as part of the Birgit Nilsson Festival. The course culminates in a student concert at the Ravinen Cultural Centre’s Birgit Nilsson Hall.

Birgit Nilsson Stipendium

A Stipendium for promising, young singers. Throughout her career, Birgit Nilsson felt a deep personal responsibility for the future of opera. By establishing a scholarship in her name, she sought to support and encourage the next generation of young singers.
