Widely regarded as one of the most significant lied singers of our time, he is celebrated for his insightful and compelling interpretations, creating an intimate, almost theatrical connection with his listeners. Like great predecessors such as Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Matthias Goerne is both a custodian and innovator of the classical singing tradition. With a rich discography, he has received numerous awards, including a Grammy and Diapason d’Or, and was named “Sänger des Jahres” (Singer of the Year) by Germany’s ECHO Klassik.

He has appeared with orchestras such as the Vienna Philharmonic and the Orchestre National de France, and has collaborated with pianists including Vladimir Ashkenazy, Alfred Brendel, Christoph Eschenbach, Leif Ove Andsnes, and Alexander Schmalcz.

has worked closely with Matthias Goerne for several years, as well as with many other renowned singers and chamber musicians. His extensive repertoire is well documented in numerous recordings.
