Birgit Nilsson was Honorary Chairman of the Board until she passed away in 2005. The first Chairman was Professor of Philosophy, Sten Broman, and the other Board Members were court singer, Sigurd Björling, Professor Uno Ebrelius and the then Theatre Director of Malmö Stadsteater, Gösta Folke.

After his death, Sten Broman was succeeded by Consul General Olof Sjöström, who handed over to the current chairman Bengt Hall, Acting CEO of Malmö Opera. The other Board Members are Karin Hjalmers, Elisabeth Boström and Gunnar Bohlin.
