Double celebration on Birgit Nilsson’s birthday – Season opening at the museum
Birgit Nilsson was honored with a grand birthday celebration on May 17 – her birthday – when the Birgit Nilsson Museum and Stable café opened their doors for the season. With an Open House between 10 am and 5 pm, visitors were offered free admission to this year’s exhibition, a festive atmosphere and extraordinary taste experiences.
One of the most anticipated moments of the day was the announcement of this year’s Birgit Nilsson scholarship recipient. This year, the prestigious award went to the promising soprano Karolina Bengtsson, who thus joins a number of prominent singers who have received the scholarship in Birgit Nilsson’s name.
The mamsellen served the specially composed birthday cake to happy guests. A sweet end to a day filled with culture, tradition and musical joy.
The museum is now open to the public at the following times:
• May 17 – June 19: Thursday – Sunday at 11:00–17:00
• June 24 – August 31: Tuesday – Sunday 11:00–17:00
• September 3 – September 17: Wednesday – Sunday 11:00–17:00
