Camilla Tilling
Camilla Tilling is a great favorite among conductors, audiences and critics alike. In the concert repertoire, she is one of the world’s most sought-after names with performances under the direction of, among others, Gustavo Dudamel together with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, during the Esa-Pekka Salonen with the London Philharmonia Orchestra, with Gianandrea Noseda and the Washington National Symphony Orchestra in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 and with the Orchester national de France. She has toured extensively in director Peter Sellar’s productions with the Berliner Philharmoniker and Sir Simon Rattle. Camilla had a special connection with the late Sir Bernard Haitink under whose direction she sang her first Beethoven, Missa Solemnis at the Teatro alla Scala, and in a legendary farewell concert with the Radio Filharmonish Orkest at Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw.
In recent seasons, Tilling has continued to expand an already varied repertoire with works such as Osvaldo Golijov’s Three Songs with the Oregon Symphony Orchestra, Irgen-Jensen’s song cycle Japanischer Frühling with the Berliner Philharmoniker, Janáček’s Glagolitic Mass with the Orchester symphonique de Montréal and Mendelssohn’s Paulus with the Orquesta y Coro Nacionales de España.
