Verdi’s opera Aida at the Tennis Stadium in Båstad was the grand finale at the Birgit Nilsson Festival 2025. “Triumph for Aida” was the press’ description of the performance, which attracted a large audience – 3,500 and an audience record for an opera on the center court.
International and Swedish star singers, the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra, choir singers from all over Skåne and dancers took their seats on a specially built stage in front of a large audience on the center court and in the stands. With both spectacular and intimate scenes, powerful choirs, ballet and not least the well-known and majestic triumphal march, Aida is considered one of Verdi’s most important works.
