The Birgit Nilsson Days 2021, 9-14 August, will be held for the fourth year in a row in the big opera star’s home region in Västra Karup. Limited number of tickets for the concerts in Västra Karup’s church.

The week begins on 9–12 August, with Birgit Nilsson Master Class for new promising opera singers and led by soprano Miah Persson. The work culminates in a concert in Västra Karup’s church on 12 August.

Soprano Johanna Wallroth will be presented with this year’s Birgit Nilsson Stipendium on Friday 13 August at Västra Karup church, following which she will give a recital with pianist Magnus Svensson.

The 2021 Birgit Nilsson Days conclude on Saturday 14 August at 18.00 with a special concert entitled “In Birgit’s footsteps.” Miah Persson leads a cast of talented young Swedish singers, including present and past recipients of the Birgit Nilsson Stipendium – Soprano, Johanna Wallroth (2021 recipient), Joel Annmo Tenor, Mezzo-Soprano, Emma Sventelius (2020 recipient) and Bass-Baritone , Henning von Schulman (2016 recipient). The programme, comprising arias and scenes from Don Giovanni, Fidelio and Der Rosenkavalier, will be accompanied by pianist Elisabeth Boström.
