The Birgit Nilsson Days 2023, August 6-12, will take place for the seventh year in a row in the great opera star’s home region in V\u00e4stra Karup. The concerts take place at three venues. In the Birgit Nilsson hall at Ravinen, in V\u00e4stra Karup’s church and at Center Courten in B\u00e5stad.<\/p>

The Birgit Nilsson days begin with a Master Class. With an audience ticket, you can take part in the teaching on August 4-7, 10:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The work culminates in a closing concert in the Birgit Nilsson hall on August 8 at 19:00.<\/p>

Recipients of this year’s Birgit Nilsson scholarship will be announced on May 17. The distribution with concert takes place on August 9 at 19:00 in V\u00e4stra Karup Church.<\/p>

Top international singers take part in the performance, again this time together with the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra and a choir with singers from Bj\u00e4re and Helsingborg – all under the direction of maestro Pier Giorgio Morandi, an expert in Italian opera who last year made an acclaimed appearance at Birgit Nilsson’s Tosca in Concert.<\/p>

World singers Joyce El-Khoury and Michael Fabiano make their long-awaited return to B\u00e5stad this summer together with Swedish star baritone Fredrik Zetterstr\u00f6m and master conductor Pier Giorgio Morandi.<\/p>

If you come by car, it is a good reason to add a little extra time to find the right parking around B\u00e5stad. The distances are not that long in B\u00e5stad and there is perhaps a parking space a bit away from the center court. It is fine to let people with walking difficulties get off near the entrance to the center court and then park the car in a free parking space.<\/p>

In the ticket for the concert at 19.00 also includes the concert introduction in the Gallerian at 18.15 with the opera director Anelia Kadieva Jonsson.<\/p>

Our volunteers will greet you at the entrance to the center court and the program for the evening’s concert will be handed out.<\/p>
