Participants 2026
We are delighted to present the participants of this year’s Birgit Nilsson Masterclass taking place from 3–6 August. The classes will be led by Matthias Goerne in the Birgit Nilsson Hall at Kulturhuset Ravinen in Båstad. As an audience member, you are welcome to attend the sessions on 4 and 6 August. Barbara Skora
German-Polish mezzo-soprano who, during the past season, performed Zulma in L’italiana in Algeri at Teatro Municipale Reggio Emilia and Flora Bervoix in La traviata at Staatsoper Unter den Linden.
David Roy
Polish baritone who has been a member of the Junges Ensemble at Semperoper Dresden this season, where he has appeared in Rigoletto, Die Zauberflöte, and Madama Butterfly. He also sang the role of Figaro in Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm in 2025.
Fabian Düberg
Swedish tenor who has been a member of Theater Bremen since 2024, where this Spring he sang Chevalier Belfiore in Il viaggio a Reims, Monostatos in Die Zauberflöte, and Prinz von Thurn und Taxis in Kreisler’s Sissy.
Josef Zetterberg Pihl
Swedish bass-baritone who this Spring sang in Bach’s St John Passion with the ensemble Ad Mosam in the Netherlands. This Autumn he will perform Papageno in Die Zauberflöte in Montepulciano and Cologne. He is also a composer.
Linn Henningson Ersson
Swedish soprano who graduated in June from the Chamber Music Programme at the School of Music and Opera, Mälardalen University. During her studies she took part in projects featuring German Lieder, French mélodies, art songs, and arias.
Lova Kollberg
Swedish soprano who last Summer sang Campaspe in Alessandro in Susa at Vadstena Academy. This Spring she performed the role of August Strindberg in Strindberg vs. Key at Strindberg’s Intimate Theatre in Stockholm.
Merit Nath-Göbel
German soprano who made her debut as a mezzo-soprano this year, including as Zita in Gianni Schicchi. This Spring she sang Masha and Prilepa in The Queen of Spades and Annina in La traviata (also this Autumn) at Leipzig Opera.
Jacob Lidåkra, pianist
Alongside his solo career, he collaborates with singers in a wide variety of settings and is a frequent guest at the Birgit Nilsson Festival. As a teacher, he is based in Holstebro, Denmark, where he heads the Chamber Music Department at OrkesterEfterskolen.
Bengt-Åke Lundin, pianist
A versatile concert pianist and highly sought-after accompanist for both Swedish and international vocal stars. As a concert pianist, he has performed with all the major Swedish symphony orchestras and has appeared internationally in orchestral concerts and solo recitals.
